Horizon Leeds 2025: Year in Review

What a year it has been! From bustling conferences to inspiring networking events, 2025 has been a year of growth, innovation, and unforgettable moments at Horizon Leeds.

Here’s a look back at the milestones that shaped our journey this year.

January: A Fresh Start

We kicked off the year reflecting on a fantastic 2024 and setting goals for the year ahead. January was full of one-to-one meetings, networking at Get Connected and City Networking, and welcoming clients to our vibrant venue. We introduced lunchtime tours to showcase the venue in action, offering potential clients a real feel for delegate flow and catering. Our sales strategy day set the tone for a year focused on creativity and collaboration.

February: Learning and Accessibility

February took us to Confex and the MIA dinner in London, where we explored event accessibility and hybrid trends. Key takeaway from an accessibility session was that: “Accessibility should be part of an event’s DNA.” And this is something as a venue, we’re committed to continuing to focus on across the venue and educating clients on best practices. Back at the venue, smaller workshops and multi-day meetings creating an office-away-from-office feel kept us busy, while site visits showcased Horizon Leeds at its best.

March: Exhibitions and Engagement

March was all about face-to-face connections, with a special shoutout to CHS Leeds as a highlight and described as a great big Yorkshire hug, attracting a mix of agents, corporates, and public sector buyers. Horizon Leeds showcased its venue and values through engagement activities.

Across the month, we met with over 600 people, shared our story, and celebrated Leeds as a thriving event hub. From Think Tank breakfasts to PA Hub showcases, the month was packed with networking and collaboration opportunities.

We also took advantage of sunny days during venue visits to highlight its stunning floor-to-ceiling windows and versatile spaces.

April: Healthcare and Sustainability

April was dedicated to healthcare events, including the Care Closer to Home: Primary and Community Care Conference and radiology exams requiring high-spec computers and secure networks. This reinforced Horizon Leeds’ unique link to The NHS Alliance, with all profits reinvested to support patient care, which is such an ESG win for clients.

May: UKREiiF and Exclusive Events

May was packed with away days, training sessions, and exclusive-use health conferences, showcasing Horizon Leeds’ ability to handle complex, multi-day events.

Over 17,500 delegates descended on Leeds for UKREiiF, creating an incredible atmosphere around Brewery Wharf. Horizon Leeds adapted its schedule to host breakfast, lunch, and evening receptions daily, requiring military-level precision from the operations team.

We also hosted the Romanian presidential elections, proving the venue’s versatility for large-scale, non-traditional events.

It was a busy month, so a heartfelt shout-out to the team for their dedication during early mornings, late nights, and weekends to make every event a success.

June: Healthcare Milestones

June was dominated by healthcare conferences, including a record-breaking seven-person panel and the UK Women’s Health Breast Summit.

 “Nothing was too much trouble, all your staff were so friendly and helpful, and the catering was excellent!” – which is a testament to Horizon Leeds’ exceptional service.

We also supported our NHS Alliance colleagues at NHS ConfedExpo, with 9,000 attendees, 600+ speakers, and 200+ exhibitors, strengthening Horizon Leeds’ healthcare link.

July and August: New Connections

July and August were all about building and strengthening new and old relationships. Feedback was fantastic, with one client saying, “I wish I had discovered this venue sooner; we will definitely be back.”

In July, we were thrilled to host the BNI Summer Exchange Northern Conference, which was an evening of networking, collaboration, and fresh ideas. We are currently working on some exciting opportunities with the team for 2026.

In August, we welcomed the Summer FBS Meeting, which saw great attendance, an amazing speaker, and brilliant conversations throughout the day. The energy and engagement were inspiring, and we’re already excited to do something bigger and better next summer, so watch this space!

We also continued exploring creative ways to maximise event ROI through photography, video, and content capture, helping clients extend the impact of their events beyond the day itself.

September and October: Autumn Momentum

Autumn arrived with a packed schedule of medical conferences, featuring exhibition stands showcasing cutting-edge medical devices and creative use of venue spaces like Meet@ for networking and product displays.

Inspire@ and Think@ continued to be popular for leadership meetings, offering a comfortable, tech-equipped environment away from the office.

We hosted two major construction conferences, including innovation stands (with a robot!) and dedicated relaxation spaces, plus an apprentice onboarding event to create a strong first impression.

During these months, we also welcomed the Beyond the Brochure Leeds Tour to Horizon Leeds, where we opened our doors to top UK event buyers for a venue showcase, strengthening Horizon Leeds’ position as a go-to event space. It was a fantastic event to be part of.

We reflected on the power of conversations and forward planning, helping new clients turn ideas into reality while preparing for a packed November.

November: Our Busiest Month Yet!

November was our busiest month at Horizon Leeds, and we loved every moment! A huge thank you to our incredible team for delivering exceptional service and making every client feel in safe hands. This month, we were able to deliver live site visits to show the real buzz of event days (plus virtual visits for remote clients).

This month was all about exclusive use events; we were packed with conferences and workshops, with repeat bookings already confirmed for November 2026, which is amazing. Clients praised our organisation, flexibility, and catering for all dietary needs.

December: 12 Days of Giving

We have absolutely loved our 12 Days of Giving and spreading festive cheer for the first three weeks of December. Each week had a different theme:

  • Week 1: Giving to the Community. We kicked things off by writing heartfelt Christmas cards for care home residents, donating venue space to local charities, and supporting Leeds North & West Foodbank. Plus, discover amazing small businesses in the spotlight.
  • Week 2: Giving with Kindness, highlights included mental health awareness, a warmth drive for coats and scarves, Pay It Forward coffee gestures, and festive jumper day for Save the Children.
  • Week 3: Giving with Joy featured sustainable Christmas tips, free mince pies for delegates, gift donations for the elderly, and a dedicated Thank You Day to spread gratitude far and wide.

Horizon Leeds became a hub of generosity, kindness, and community spirit, and the results were truly heartwarming.

Together, we made a real difference in tackling loneliness and helping to spread the festive cheer during the festive period. Every card, coat, and conversation mattered and reminded us that kindness is the greatest gift of all.
