Permanent Broadcast Studio ready to go!
The award-winning team at Horizon Leeds have had a remarkably busy few months, including the completion of our permanent broadcast studio within the central Leeds venue, an increasingly popular and flexible conference and meeting resource. The completion of our broadcast studio also coincides with the launch of the new website.
Having to close our doors over the COVID-19 pandemic was heart-breaking. However, we knew that this didn’t have to be the final word. Our solution was to work with our partners at Firefly AV (Audio Visual) to create a virtual and hybrid studio. Although the demand has now returned to in-person events, today, a blended approach, including a broadcast studio set up, is hugely beneficial and an integral communication tool for many organisations. Therefore, we have rebranded our Virtual & Hybrid Streaming Studio to the Broadcast Studio and given it a permanent home at Horizon Leeds.
Moving the studio from Create@ to a standalone space has been a challenge as the new home is the old staff office. This meant that we needed to improve the infrastructure to ensure that the space was suitable for a permanent studio. To do this, we looked for funding opportunities and found the digital enterprise scheme which offers digital growth vouchers to organisations looking for digital investment to improve or grow their digital offering. The project required the organisation to submit a proposal including an investment proposal, plan, and proof of 3 supplier quotes. Horizon was successful and was given a grant for 40% of the project costs.
How can the studio be used?
The state-of-the-art, stand-alone broadcast studio provides space for up to four presenters live in the studio at one time and endless number of people off site. This allows for the ability to share their message to delegates all over the world; think branded newsroom studio, with fully interactive capability.
Seamless transitions throughout your event from speaker to panel or presentation will be overseen by dedicated on-site technical support, supplied by Firefly Audio Visual Solutions as part of the package. The studio consists of three LED screens so content, speakers and audience can be shown at the same time, whilst the chair can be guided through the event via two comfort monitors.
With multi camera set up, earpieces, control room and professional level sound and lighting equipment, our event planners can build a fully branded event which can be streamed and recorded on a wide variety of platforms.
